School Facility

  • All families and visitors will only have access to the front door of the facility or entry area. If escorting children to and from a classroom, only 1 guardian is allowed into the building.
  • There is no lingering or loitering in the classrooms, hallways, or entryway.
  • Parents may be asked to stagger arrival and drop off times if a large amount of parents arrive together.
  • Only children and staff who are required for daily operations and ratio will be allowed inside the building and classrooms.
  • Daily temperature checks and health screenings will be performed on all staff, children, and visitors upon arrival and throughout the day.
  • Staff conducting daily health screenings will use appropriate PPE, including a mask and gloves.
  • Hand hygiene stations will be set up at the entrance of the facility so staff and children can clean their hands before they enter.
  • All adults and children will follow proper hand hygiene guidance, washing hands frequently with soap and water. Hand washing will be performed as follows:
    • Upon arrival in classroom in the morning
    • Before and after eating meals and snacks
    • After blowing noses, coughing, or sneezing or when in contact with body fluids after toileting or changing diapers
    • After returning from outside play
  • Bathrooms are only for students and staff use.
  • All staff is required to wear masks or face coverings at all times.
  • Children are encouraged to wear face coverings but not required. Face coverings are removed during mealtimes and nap time.
  • All staff and children are required to change shoes upon arrival.
  • All sign-in/sign-out procedures will be modified. Staff will sign children in and out of the facility to prevent all contact with the pens. Each pen will be cleaned with a disinfectant wipe or other means before another person uses the pen.
  • All surfaces and objects that are frequently touched such as tables, doorknobs, counters, desks, phones, keyboards, faucets, toilets, sinks, light switches will be routinely cleaned, sanitized, and disinfected.
  • All toys and surfaces will be cleaned and sanitized at the end of the day.
  • All unnecessary child transportation will be halted. All field trips are canceled until further notice.
  • There will be no outside toys and stuffed animals allowed. Parents should only bring necessary items from home such as extra clothes, diapers, pull-ups, thermos, and a blanket and sheet for nap.
  • All efforts will be made to reduce the number of children in each classroom and playground.
  • All efforts will be made to keep the same groups of children together for the entire day and not mix the children.
  • Limit sharing of toys and learning materials. All efforts will be made to provide each child with his/her own supplies.
  • Sleeping cots will be individually labeled with child’s name.
  • Windows will be open up to 4-inches to allow proper fresh-air ventilation and circulation.
  • All parent tours and meetings will be halted until further notice. We encourage families to attend them virtually.
  • We use PROTEXUS Electrostatic Disinfectant Sprayers to sanitize our facilities. Electrostatic disinfectant sprayers are suitable for treating anything their disinfecting solution can kill, and that includes the novel coronavirus, COVID-19

Illness

  • Anyone including all visitors, staff, and children that has a fever of or above 100 degrees Fahrenheit or exhibits respiratory symptoms, including cough or shortness of breath will not be allowed to enter and/or stay in the building. Children and staff with a fever will be required to stay home for 5 days or bring a doctor’s note after 48 hours stating they are not contagious.
  • No fever reducing medication (Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Motrin, etc.) shall be given 8 hours prior to care or while at the center. Parents/Guardians must notify teachers if medication was given and when it was administered.
  • Children who develop signs/symptoms of COVID-19 or any other contagious illness such as excessive coughing, shortness of breath, excessive mucus including runny nose, a fever, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea while at the center will be separated from others and parents will be called immediately to come pick up.
  • Parents/Guardians must pick up a child who is exhibiting symptoms within an hour of teacher’s notification or risk withdrawal from program.
  • Children or staff sent home with nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea will be restricted from returning until 48 hours after symptoms have subsided. Children can only return when they are able to play, sleep, eat, and drink as normal.
  • Any parent, child, household member, or staff member who comes in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 will be required to notify the center immediately. The family and/or staff member will not be allowed at the center for a MINIMUM of 2 weeks (i.e. 14 days). The exact length will be on a case by case decision made by the administration.
  • Any family who knowingly has COVID-19 symptoms and hides or masks the information will be subject to child’s withdrawal from program.
  • Any staff member who knowingly has COVID-19 symptoms and hides or masks the information will be subject to termination.
  • In the event of a positive case of COVID-19, the center will close for a minimum of 7 days and up to 3 weeks for cleaning and disinfecting.

Remember to use extra precautions. Attending large gatherings and traveling increases the risks of contracting and/or spreading the disease. Please know that our center’s number one priority is the safety of our children, staff, and families. We have the right to ask anyone we choose to stay home for 14 days if we feel it is necessary.
